About Encouraging Beautiful Motherhood
I’m so glad you’ve taken a moment to visit here today!
I’m painfully aware that today’s culture does not nurture motherhood, nor does it nurture beauty. Yet I believe beauty is an incredibly important element in all of our lives.
I assume if you’re reading this blog, you’re a mom. Or you’re wanting to be a mom someday. And if you’re a mom, you deserve a crown. Only you’re not getting one yet, which is why you are sitting at the computer looking for some inspiration to get through another moment with your precious blessings. I believe life with children can be beautiful. I believe it’s our job as moms to make sure it is, actually. And I believe that if we don’t make time for beauty, we won’t get through these years well at all.
So that’s what this spot on the web is all about–my purpose, if you will:
To offer encouragement to mothers so that they would be inspired to embrace the mission God has given them: to build a life-giving home and raise wholehearted children.
My goal is not to inspire you to spend more time online. My dream is that when you’re done reading here, you’ll want to get up from the computer and go do something with your children. That you’ll feel validated and inspired and encouraged.
About Misty Krasawski
“Misty Krasawski is the overly-blessed mom of eight children whom she homeschools in sunshine-y Florida. She has been clinging tightly to the hand of her Lord since she was knee-high to a grasshopper, homeschooling for the past fifteen years, and has fifteen more years of homeschooling ahead of her with the children who are glad she will have done most of her experimenting on those who went before. Her wonderful husband Rob has much treasure laid up for him in heaven for having been called to such a daunting task. She also is the Community Director and a contributing writer at MomHeart Online, hostess of an online mentoring program for moms called Titus 2 University, has written an article for an upcoming devotional book from Group Publishing, and is a regular contributor to Home Educating Family Magazine as well as Heart of the Matter Online .
The above paragraph has been my “bio” for several years. While it’s been tweaked a few times, the basic form has remained the same.
But I’ve realized it might not really tell you much about who I actually am.
So, let’s fix that, shall we?
I love to write. I believe God has placed books within me, and if I could just figure out exactly what to focus on first I might get one of them out someday. I long to encourage moms to pour their hearts into their children and make their homes a haven for their families. So this blog is where I come to do that; to put out the things God whispers in my ear through His Word or sermons or just the day to day circumstances of my life. I pray as you read, your own heart will glow with the light of His love, and you’ll feel encouraged to press on in your own life as a mother, wife, and daughter of the King.
My laundry sometimes piles high. So do my dishes. There are way too many crumbs on my floor. And I didn’t actually grade anyone’s math homework today. But this morning, before the day really began, I lit a candle and prayed for God’s grace to fill my home. I made leaf-print art with the kids on the front porch, worked out with a friend, and drove my son and a neighbor to youth group … an hour away. At bedtime we read a story and snuggled, even though it was late. And right now I should be sweeping the living room, but instead I’m writing.
And that’s kindof the rhythm of my life. A little beauty, a little mess. A little work, a little fun. A little strife, a lot of grace.
Thank God for the grace.
Welcome to my little home with a big heart. I pray you read something that encourages you! Please leave any comments or questions you may have, I’d love to chat. And also, come back again sometime. I’ll put the tea kettle on!
